FLEX AVE & Partnership with IN A LANDSCAPE

Global performing arts agency CAMI Music, home to artists such as Lang Lang, Chick Corea, and more, today announces a new blueprint for safe and secure live in-person performances this Summer and Fall in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Titled “CAMI Music 20/20 - A New Vision for a New Era,” this pioneering initiative offers performing arts centers safe and innovative entertainment experiences for communities throughout the United States and beyond. The initiative reimagines the relationship among audiences, artists, and shared physical spaces, while providing new programming and outreach opportunities to support presenter’s community engagement, ticket revenue, and fundraising objectives.

Inspired by, and including, Cameron Carpenter’s recent “All You Need is Bach” mobile concert tour in Germany, as well as a newly formed partnership with IN A LANDSCAPE (a running outdoor concert series in stunning natural landscapes), “CAMI Music 20/20 - A New Vision for a New Era” will also feature Cirque FLIP Fabrique, The Queen’s Cartoonists, and FLEX AVE whose performances have all been adapted for mobile pop-up stages, existing public spaces, and digital platforms.

All artist availability is closely monitored to adhere to all safety and travel guidelines both nationally and internationally.

More information on each project can be found below and/or by visiting camimusic.com.

Theresa Vibberts, the Executive Vice President & Artist Manager of CAMI Music who conceived the collective initiative, reflects “During this time of great uncertainty and tangible impact on audiences, artists, and presenters, there is no greater responsibility we have as arts advocates than to adapt our field and offer feasible options for live experiences, which will provide safe outlets for fans to reunite and engage with arts and entertainment. This has been a labor of love and shared mission among our incredibly inventive and creative artists, the CAMI Music team, and our presenting partners, without whom this would not be possible.”

Presenting partners from performing arts centers and universities across the nation are showing their support and partnership to bring these initiatives to their audiences and communities.

Adrienne Bryant Godwin - Director of Programming, George Mason University / Fairfax & Manassas, VA

“CAMI Music has addressed the current challenges we are all facing with tenacity and creativity, proving their fierce commitment to supporting the health of our artistic ecosystem.  Their innovative new programming model will have a profound impact on audiences, artists, and the multitude of industry professionals who support them.  We truly need each other now more than ever, and CAMI Music is helping to bring us back together.”

Shane Fernando - VP Advancement and the Arts, Cape Fear Community College Wilson Center / Wilmington, NC

NAPAMA (North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents Association) Presenter of the Year 2020

"I would like to thank the CAMI Music team and artists for continuing their leadership in the field with this brilliant new model that allows presenting in our nation to continue safely during these times."

James Lemons - Executive Director, Lake Placid Center for the Arts / Lake Placid, NY

“CAMI Music’s thoughtful and innovative approach to helping presenters connect our audiences to live performances in a safe environment really provides a blueprint for the entire field.  The level of creativity that CAMI Music has utilized in creating these unique performances is matched only by the creativity of the artists themselves.”

Adele Adkins - Executive Director, Clark State Performing Arts Center / Springfield, OH

“While all our venues are closed and we are scrambling for how to bring any performances to our community, CAMI Music has helped figure this out for us.  They are one of the leading agencies that have quickly put together alternative programming such as mobile performances arriving on trucks that then become the ‘stage’ and performances that will happen in parks and parking lots.  This is just one example of how CAMI Music is leading the way to help presenters bring live performances to our cities.  I am so grateful to them for their leadership.  I personally have two of these types of events coming in the next few months.”

Aaron Shackelford, Ph.D. – Director, Georgia Tech Arts, Georgia Institute of Technology / Atlanta, GA

“I was inspired by the creative thinking and careful planning that went into creating these events. CAMI Music has devised a series of opportunities that realistically respond to our world today, while encouraging us to reimagine how we share the arts with our communities. As an arts administrator, I draw energy from the vision and detail of CAMI Music’s offerings and their passion for finding ethical and impactful moments of performance and engagement.”

Vicki Infinito - Director of Programming and Booking, Hult Center for the Preforming Arts / Eugene, OR

“We all need to work together to figure out how to move forward as Arts professionals right now and many of the old ways of doing things are currently not possible. The Arts are so vital to the human experience and our happiness overall and I think it is great that CAMI Music is looking at different ways to allow us to gather during this time. Venues, Artists, and Agents are so interconnected, and we need to all work together to help keep the ecosystem alive for the future.”

Leah Z. Rosenthal - Artistic Director, La Jolla Music Society / La Jolla, CA

“Industry leader Theresa Vibberts and her team at CAMI Music have created opportunities to present innovative, exciting, and bold new projects that will bring safe, live performance back to our communities so that we can, once again, connect and engage through the power of music.”

FLEX AVE.

Digital + Live Performances

In light of continuing social movements, the original street dance production, FLEX AVE. has been adapted for the digital space to address the urgent issues of the day. The two-year digital & live initiative will be a platform for audiences of all ages to come together in support of social justice and anti-racism through dance, art and activism.

IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild
Outdoor Performances
An outdoor concert series founded by Hunter Noack where mountaintops, forests and river banks replace traditional concert halls. Traveling on a 9-foot Steinway grand piano on a flatbed trailer, IN A LANDSCAPE™ has been presented in parks, ranches and farms across America. To meet the acoustic challenges of performing in the wild and the social distancing requirements of the COVID-19 era, music is transmitted via headsets or a companion mobile app to audience members’ personal headphones. Audiences can explore the landscape or cityscape freely, unrestricted to seats. The upcoming edition, adaptable for city-centers, features pianists Hunter Noack and Thomas Lauderdale (of Pink Martini).
